I hope that you all had a beautiful Thanksgiving with the ones that you love! We truly soaked up our holiday, and it was so sweet for us to be able to continue so many of our family traditions. I am very grateful to see my kiddos enjoy many of the same things that I did as a child.
For Thanksgiving we headed to my parents’ house (my childhood home). My mama always goes above and beyond to set a beautiful table, and to make everything feel cozy and homey. She has the best family thanksgiving ideas. We enjoyed so many of our favorite Thanksgiving foods, pumpkin pie with homemade whipped cream is my favorite of all!
Texas weather is beautiful this time of year, so we were able to have a family softball game in the front yard. My brother and his family came, and it was such a joy to see all of the cousins together. I love being an auntie and watching my kiddos as big cousins!
Ever since I was a little girl we have done these family Thanksgiving traditions and experiencing them with my babies has been one of the sweetest gifts of my life. My parents, my brother & his family, my sweet little fam all together — I couldn’t ask for anything more.
At Thanksgiving my parents’ home is already decked out for Christmas. I get my love for decorating early from my mama! It really makes me enjoy the season that much more. I love being able to soak it all in a little longer.
Each year during the holidays we gather to play family Thanksgiving games, we start with bingo — seriously so much fun! Everyone switches off playing ping pong, the kids love this and get more and more into it each year. We have a fun piñata and family thanksgiving crafts for the kiddos to enjoy as well!
One of my favorite traditions and family Thanksgiving activities of all, to welcome in the Christmas season, we have a family secret Santa gift exchange! The magic of Christmas is ushered in for us on Thanksgiving, and the joy and excitement that our children experience makes the holidays all the more magical for me.
I cherish every year that we can all be together. We are blessed to hold one another close, to make these memories, and to pass these traditions on to our children. I hold onto these images in my mind and try to remember family thanksgiving quotes and special moments as much as I can.
These family photos are so dear to my heart, it’s incredible to look back year after year, to see how in many ways their little faces still look the same to me, yet they are growing into such wonderful little people. I know that I will treasure these images for the rest of my life, pouring over the years when they were small, and we could all be together. Family Thanksgiving pictures photo ideas are a favorite for us! It would also be super cute to have matching family thanksgiving shirts ideas or family thanksgiving outfits matching!
This Thanksgiving, and every day I am thankful for this community and for each of you. Thank you for showing up every day, I’ll never say thank you enough!
How was your holiday!? What’s one of your fav traditions that you do on this day?!
XO,
Casey Wiegand
